Swimming 2024-2024
Children at Christ the King have had the opportunity to swim daily during the Autumn 2 term. Working with Beyond the Physical, we became the first school in Leeds to offer a 'pop-up' swimming pool to boost our provision for those learning to swim.
Children in Year 4 have had an intensive block of swimming lessons for 4 weeks to enable all children to swim 25 metres. This is the length stated in the National Curriculum that children need to swim by the time they leave primary school. All children from previous years who have not met this objective have also had swimming lessons. To make as much use of the pool as possible, pupils in Key Stage 2 have had swimming club offered on Tuesday and Thursday with a water polo club offered on Wednesdays.
