Welcome to our Music web page, where innovation meets creativity in our educational environment. Music is an integral part of our curriculum, providing a high quality and progressive learning. Our learning is underpinned by the Kapow scheme, which provides a comprehensive and structured framework for delivering exciting and engaging Music lessons. This scheme ensures that students are equipped with essential skills, linked to singing, performance, listening and instrumental.
As part of our wider curriculum, we have weekly visits from the Diocese of Leeds Singing Programme. As part of this, a choral director leads whole school hymn pratice, We also have individual class choral singing each week. In order to develop instrumental skills, our Year 3/4 children also have a weekly melodica lesson.
Our Key Stage 2 choir not only have opportunities to perform in school, but have been involved in fundraising activities, along with events in our wider community.

As part of our teaching in Music, we have weekly visits from a Choral Director from the Diocese of Leeds Singing Programme. He leads a whole school hymn practice weekly, along with choral singing for Peace Class. We also develop keyboard skills, with weekly melodica lessons.

As part our musical development at Christ the King, we welcome visiting performers to school. Recently, the whole school were enthralled by the wonderful performance of the acclaimed French accordionist, Theo Ould - who received a huge ovation from children and staff.
